BOROUGH OF PAEROA RATES, 1949/50 Public Notice is hereby given that the Paeroa Borough Counsil, in pursuance of the powers conferred by “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” “ The Rating Act, 1925,” “ The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” and every other power enabling it in that behalf, intends on Thursday, the 14th day of July, 1949, to make and levy for the year which commenced on the Ist day of April, 1949, and ends on the 31st day of March, 1950, the following rates:— (1) A General Rate of 5 7-10 d in the £. (2) A Separate Hospital Rate of 2 l-5d in the £. (3) A Separate Rate under Sections 84 to 100 (both sections inclusive) of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, •1941, of 6-10 d in the £ on the basis of the Unimproved Value of all lands within the Borough of Paeroa and within the boundary of the Hauraki Catchment Board. Such Rate being levied on behalf of the Hauraki Catchment Board in terms of a Speciel Order under the Seal of the Hauraki Catchment Board dated the 11th day of May, 1949, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the general expenses of administration and of the cost of making surveys. (4) A Special Rate of 41 d in the £ in order to provide Interest and Sinking Funds on the £53,385 borrowed for the purpose of converting into new securities the existing Paeroa Borough Loans as set out in the “ Paeroa Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1934,” such being part of the Special Rate of 6*d in the £ struck on the 20th March, 1935. (5) A Separate Water Rate in accordance with charges specified in Part XV. of Paeroa Borough By-Law No. 1 and amendments thereof. All the above Rates based upon the Unimproved Rateable Value of all rateable property, as appearing in the Valuation Roll in force in the Borough of Paeroa. (6) A Special Rate of 5 13-16 d in the £ on Lands in the Ohinemuri County liable to Special Rates on the following: £34,500 Sewerages Loan, £11,250 Street Improvements Lean, £lOOO Domain Improvements Loan and the £650 Financial Adjustment Loan on the Unimproved Value on the Valuation Roll of the Ohinemuri County Council. The foregoing rates to be payable in one sum on the 10th day of August, 1949, at the Council Office, Normanby Road, Paeroa, to Matthew Charles Baker, the Council’s Collector, or to such other persons as may be appointed to collect the same. The Estimates upon which the rates are being struck having been approved by the Council, remain open for inspection in the Council Chambers, Normanby Road* Paeroa. M. C. BAKER, Town Clerk.
