GIFT EVENING
MISS FLYNN HONOURED
CHEQUE FROM SOCIAL CLUB
Mangatarata residents met in the school recently to honour one of their popular girls, Miss Marjorie Flynn, on the occasion of her approaching marriage to Mr Arnold Schuler. Miss I. Mai shall was pianiste and Mr J- Lawrence, M.C. Between the ordinary dances two little girls, Misses Jeanette and Barbara Roberts, gave some delightful items of fancy dancing.
After a dainty supper had been served by the ladies, Mr G. Gray called the guests of honour forward and having offered them everyone’s good wishes, invited them to open the numerous and useful gifts for their new home, one special one being a cheque from the Mangatarata Social Club.
Mr Schuler then thanked all present for both the kind thoughts and also the very lovely presents. Musical honours were then accorded to the young couple and dancing was resumed until the evening concluded with the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne.” , . ,
