Paeroa’s Public Debt
The net public debt of the Borough of Paeroa on March 31, 1949, amounted to £41,195. This information was disclosed in the report of the town clerk, Mr M. C. Baker, which was placed before the Paeroa Borough Council at its last meating. During the year the public debt was increased by the raising of the balance of the sewerage loan, £4250. At the same time however reductions were brought about by the redeeming of debentures totalling £l6OO in the conversion loan and £165 15s 8d in the sewerage loan.
