PLAYING AREA
WORK AT PAEROA SCHOOL GROUND TO BE LEVELLED Every effort is being made by the Paeroa District High School Committee to provide better playing facilities at the pirmary department’s grounds. For this purpose an area behind the dental clinic is to be levelled and the ground laid out with top soil so as to make possible the growing of a grass surface on the area. Arrangements have already been made with a contractor to carry out the work by means of a bulldozer at the cost of £2 10s per hour and it is hoped to have the work completed in time for an autumn sowing of the grass seed. On the motion of Mr R* S. Nicol, seconded by Mr M. Graham, the school committee at its recent meeting, decided to write the education board for authority to carry out the work necesary to make the area fit for use as a playing field.
