MOTHERS MEET

HAURAKI PLAINS UNION ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of Hauraki Plains Mothers’ Union was held in Turua recently. The Mothers’ Union’s service was conducted by Rev. A. Elliott Cannon, after which Mrs Simpkin, Dominion president, spoke to the ladies, giving quite a comprehensive talk of her experiences at the recent World Conference of Mothers’ Unions held in England. The ladies then gathered in the Sunday school room and the annual meeting was held. After much discussion it was decided in future to hold the meetings in the three subdistricts, Waitakaruru, Ngatea and Turua. Mrs A. Elliot Cannon was elected enrolling member, and Mrs N. Hedges electing member. Afternoon tea was served by the Turua ladies early to allow Mrs Simpkin to return to Auckland.
