WEDDING BELLS

INNIS—BATEMAN BRIDE’S GRACEFUL LAGE FROCK The wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Thames, recently, when Edith Joy, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. O. Bateman of Thames was married to Rex Percival, only son of Mt and Mrs A. G. Innis of Wharepoa and now of Thames Coast. The Rev. W. Rowe officiated and Mr W. Marshall was the organist. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a graceful frock of ivory needlerun lace, fashioned with a fitting bodice and with an off the shoulder neckline trimmed with three tiny frills of self material and a spray of orange blossom. The sleeves were three-quarter length and the natural waistline was finished with a bustle bow. The fully flared skirt was cut to form a long scalloped train edged with tulle, while the long embroidered tulle veil which formed a second train was held in place by a cornet of ivory gypsophlia, cyclamen an J asters. She carried a bouquet of gypsophlia, cycla- : men, asters and maidenhair fern. Attending the bride was Miss Joyce Weiner of Thames and Miss Helen Innis, sister of the bridegroom, of Mt. Albert, Auckland. Both wore lovely frocks of saffron gold embossed marquisette made with tight fitting bodices and bustle bows, to match the bride. The off the shoulder necklines were finished with a double cape effect, caught in front with a bow, and the skirts were fully flared. Elbow length mittens in ecru colour were worn. Each carried shower bouquets of autumn toned gladioli, dahlias and ! maidenhair fern, and wore matching i flowers in their hair.

The bridegroom was attended by his uncle, Mr R. 0. Murdock of Paeroa as best man and Mr Norman Bateman, hiother of the bride, from Ardmoie

College, Papakura, was groomsman

The ri cej.tion was held in the Fire Brigade hall, Thames, where the guests were received by the bride’s

mother who wore a model frock of turquoise blue cicpe. black braided hat and black accessot ies. She carried a bouquet of asters and hydrangeas in pink and blue tunings, and midenhair fein. Mrs Bateman was assisted by the bridegroom's mother who wore a smart sea green ensemble of heavy crepe-de-chine, navy braided straw hat, and navy accessories. Mrs Innis carried a bouquet of autumn toned dahlias and maidenhair fern.

For her honeymoon Mrs Innis travelled in a model frock of teal blue French crepe with drawn thread and embroidered bodice with a full tucked skirt. She wore a small wine coloured' off-the-face straw hat and wine accessories.
