CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS STILL NOT COMPLETED MATCHES LAST SATURDAY The Hauraki Plains Tennis Association’s championships played at Ngatea last Saturday, . resulted as follow:— Ladies* open singles, semi-final: Miss Sear defeated Mrs Dibble, 6 —5, 5 —6, B—6; final, Miss Booth defeated Miss Sear, 6—5, o—6, 4—6.

Ladies’ handicap singles, semi-final, Mrs Anderson defeated Miss McIntosh, 9—5; final, Mrs Dibble defeated Mrs Anderson, 9—2.

Ladies’ open doubles: Misses Sear and Booth defeated Mrs McCollum and Miss Mclntosh, 6—5, 3—6, 6—3. Ladies’ handicap doubles, Mrs McCollum and Miss Mclntosh lost to Mesdames Dibble and Madgwick, B—3; final to be played between Mesdames Dibble and Madgwick and Misses Poland and Candy.

Men’s open singles: H. Troughton lost to R. Ridings, 3—9; D. Troughton defeated G. Yeager, 9—6; D. Troughton lost to R. Ridings by default; R. Paton defeated G. Douglas, 6 —5, 4—6, 6—4; finals to be played between R. Paton and R. Ridings.

Men’s handicap singles: T. Dews defeated J. Murray, 9—7; D. Troughton lost to Garry, 3—5; finals to be played between T. Dews and Garry. Men’s open doubles: D. and H. Trdughton lost to Hall and Yeager, I—6, 6—5, Douglas and Price defeated B. Paton and T. Hegh, 6—5, 6—4; finals to be played between Hall and Yeager and Douglas and Price. Men’s handicap doubles: Ridings and Price defeated Paton and .Hegh, 9—6; Reid and Garry defeated Duffy and Dews, 9—B; Stretton and Yeager defeated Paton and Harris, 9 —B.

Handicap combines: Mr and Mrs Madgwick lost to B. Bartley and Mrs Thompson, 5—9; R- Ridings and Miss Jackson defeated Mr and Mrs Yeager, 9—B; Reid and Mrs Dibble defeated Ridings and Miss Jackson, 9 —5; finals, B. Bartley and Mrs Thompson defeated Reid and Mrs Dibble, 9 —B.
