TAIRUA INSTITUTE

FEBRUARY MEETING HELD POOR ATTENDANCE The Tairua Women’s Institute held its monthly meeting on February 17, Mrs Shay presiding over a poor attendance of members. The president asked members to stand for a minute’s silence in respect' to the late Mrs Lopes, a well known and old identity of Tairua who passed away during the Christmas holidays, and Mrs Cory-Wright, mother of Mr H. Cory-Wright. During World War 1 Mrs Cory-Wright did a considerable amount of Red Cross work in the district.
