RUGBY AT BAY
WIN FOR KUAOTUNU MATCH WITH WHITIANGA On Labour Day the Kuaotunu and Whitianga Rugby football clubs organised a football match and donated the gate takings to the Whitianga hall building fund. The weather was miserable with a high wind and scattered showers and play was generally not up to the usual standard. Kuaotunu won the match by six points to nil. Tries for Kuaotunu were scored by I. Brophy and R. Simpson. The teams were:— Kuaotunu: P. Tawhara, I. Brophy, I. Simpson, R. Simpson, Winiata, McLean, A. Simpson, G. Chaney, H. Simpson, P. Simpson, W. Simpson, M. Blade, I- Lowe, Taylor and K. Rabe. Whitianga: J. Rohrlach, 0. Whiting, R. Sewell, Peachey, R. Davis, A. E. White, Rivas, H. Norton, G. Ross, Troughear, J. Simpson, J. Fisher, N. Rohrlach and N. Fisher.
