ONE BREAK

PLAINS WATER SUPPLY TROUBLE ON PIAKO ROAD “ Two broken half-inch connections and a break on the four-inch concrete main, Piako road have been repaired. These were the only breaks on this supply during the month,” reported the water supply supervisor, Mr J. Bradford,'to the October meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The report continued: — “ Mains have been sluiced out on some of the area. Water meters have been read for the period ending September 30. “ At the Waitakaruru domain a oneinch service lead was torn off the main pipe by the council’s grader. Both stopcocks were broken and a length of new pipe had to be laid. “ The Ngatea and Pipiroa areas were shut off for four hours during repairs. “With Mr Holden, the new water supervisor, an inspection over both supplies has been carried out.”
