PLEASANT PARTY

MISS MAUREEN LEACH LEAVING FOR CAMBRIDGE A pleasant party took place last week at the residence of Mrs Leach, Canal road, Waitakaruru, the guest of honour being Miss Maureen Leach, who is leaving to take a position in Cambridge.

The evening passed swiftly with games, songs and dancing. Mr Frank Brown officiated at the piano and also entertained with his guitar, while Mr Ron Duffin gave a clever impersonation of Gordon Hutter putting a wrestling match over the wireless. Among those present were Mesdames Leach, Lennan, A. Harris, Rawson, Adams and Cole, and Misses M. and S. Leach, Laurel McGuire (Auckland), A. Cole, H. and M. Stretton, W. and M. Gordon, O. and S. Hall, C. Ganley* J. Mitchell and M. Rawson.
