WOMEN’S DIVISION
MANGATARATA MEETING HELD FOUR PARCELS TO BRITAIN The December meeting of the Mangatarata Women’s Division was held in the golf pavilion recently and the president, Mrs Burns, t presided over a fair attendance. The meeting opened with the song and creed. The winners in the spray competition were Mrs Leo Main 1, Miss Gray 2, Mrs Bert Main 3. The best bloom winners were Mrs Leo Main 1, Miss Gray 2, Mrs Skinner 3. As it was the final meeting of the year, Christmas sprays were presented to Mesdames Cropp, A. Harris, Taylor, McClune, B. Main, Arthur, Judd, and Miss Gray. Members also exchanged Christmas gifts.
The president thanked the members for their help and co-operation in making the birthday such a success. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Arthur, the delegate to the provincial meeting, for her report. It was decided to send four parcels to Britain this month. The winner of the competition was Mrs Leo Main. Miss Graye gave an interesting demonstration on bouquet making, for which she was thanked.
