SWIMMING POOL
OPENED EARLIER THIS YEAR PROMISING SEASON CURTAILED “ With the weather conditions more favourable than at this time last year, it was possible to open the pool to the public on Saturday, November 15, last year the opening day was December 4,” said the town clerk, Mr M. C. Baker, in a report to the December meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council. “ Fees collected during the 15 days ended November 30 amounted to £23 0s Bd, a record for the swimming pool.
“ With the current water shortage followed by the polimylitis epidemic the .pool committee decided to empty the pool. The health inspector by his report lias endorsed the committee’s action in this respect. It is unfortunate in that a promising record season has been' inadvertently curtailed.”
