MAYOR INVESTED

MR C. C. WEBB DEPUTY PAEROA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEES At the December meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council the first of the new council, the investiture of the mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards, was carried out by the town clerk, Mr M. ■C« Baker. The election of the deputy-mayor for the present term resulted in the election of Cr. C. C. Webb. He was nominated by the mayor and seconded by Cr. J. H. Walmsley, ' and was elected unopposed. The committees of the council were elected as follows: — Legal and finance: Crs. J. H. Walmsley (chairman), R. C. Blackmore and E. W. Lee. Works: Crs. C. C. Webb (chairman), W. N. Chamberlain and N. C. Davies, and the mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards. Band: Crs. C. E. J. Gwilliam (chairman), J. H. Walmsley and R. C-. Blackmore. Building: Crs. N. C. Davies (chairman), W. N. Chamberlain and C. C. Webb. Fire prevention: Crs. E. W. Lee (chairman), E. L. Shaw and W. N. Chamberlain. Baths: Crs. E. L. Shaw (chairman), E. W. Lee and C. E. J. Gwilliam. Health and abattoir: Crs. W. N. Chamberlain (chairman), C. E. o J. Gwilliam and N. C. Davies. Domain and reserves: The mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards (chairman), J. H. Walmsley and E. L. Shaw. Library: Crs. R. C. Blackmore (chairman), C. C. Webb and C. E. J. Gwilliam.

The mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards, was appointed to each of the committees, ex officio. \
