Plains Council Meets

The August meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council was held at Ngatea on. Wednesday, the chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, presiding. Others present were Crs. J. F. Mayn, D. G. McMillan, W. H. Cheale, C. W. Schultz, F. Pinchess, A. H. Sutton, T. O’Carroll, J. W. Neate, the county clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney, and the county engineer, Mr E. Hazledine Barber.

Renewing Pipe Line The pipe line for the West watexsupply across the State highway near the intersection of Miranda road is being renewed preparatory to the reconstruction of the highway according to a report by the county engineer, Mr E. Hazledine Barber, to the August meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The existing concrete pipes are being replaced with ..a steel concrete lined pipe, bitumen -dipped and bound with hessian.
