BOARD ASKED TO SHARE REPAIR SUGGESTION DECIDED AGAINST . A letter stating that she would be willing to co-operate with the Hauraki United Drainage Board in the repair of a fence along the Miller outlet drain, was , received by the November meeting of the board from Miss B. White, of Turua. She suggested that as .the fence was a boundary and that she was responsible for half of it that she provide the posts and the board supply the labour. The chairman, Mr C. K. Fox, said it was definitely a board responsibility as well as a ratepayer’s, but in other cases the persons concerned had done repair work themselves without having called upon the board. He suggested that the board write to Miss White and advise her that as it was a boundary fence, and it was her stock that had damaged it, it would therefore rest with her to have the fence repaired. . The chairman’s suggestion was adopted.
