MATCHES AT WEEK-END WIN FOR PROBABLES COURT CUP PRELIMINARY During the week-end two games of cricket were played under the control of the Paeroa Cricket Club in order to select the representative team to play Waihi, the holders of the Court Cup. in a match for the cup on December .7. Saturday’s game between an A and B team resulted in a win for the A while another match between Possibles and Probables, resulted in a win for rhe Probables by 46 runs. Seme very good cricket was seen although the weather threatened, at times and play was stopped once for about five minutes. In the Possibles versus Probables match the latter batted first and scoring was very slow for the first hour and a half, but when B. Neale 45, and R. Howard 35, got together good scores were -registered. F. Carmichael was the only other batsman to reach double figures. W. Corrigan was successful in getting three wickets while A. Whisker and N. Rackham took two. The probables did not settle down and were six down for 26 when R. S. Nicol and E. Scott made a stand and carried the score, along till the side was all out for 69. B. Neale and L.
