Mr E. Deeble, chairman of the Coromandel County Council, was appointed Chairman for the meeting at a meeting of the executive committee of the Thames Regional Planning Council last week, in the unavoidable absence of the Mayor of Thames, Mr S. Ensor. Mr and Mrs Hugh Stocker of Mercury Bay have received advice that they are to sail for England on the Rangitiki in August. 'Their future home will ibe in 'Pewsey, Wiltshire. Miss Heather Dale has returned to Mercury Bay after a visit to Auckland.
Mr and Mrs J. W. S'mith, who have resided on their farm at Kaimarama, Mercury Bay, foi’ the past '3O years, are planning to move to their new home in Papatoetoe towards the end of this month.
Mrs 'L. Russell of Mercury Bay is visiting Wellington to attend the annual conference of the Women’s Institute.
Mr Jeffrey Parkes, a brother of Mrs A. J. Lucas, of Coromandel, is an inmate of the Waikato Hospital. He received severe injuries to the left hand and shock last week when a Central Waikato Electric-Dower 'Board truck in which he was riding was struck at Rayner’s crossing, Huntly, by a mixed goods and passenger train from Auckland. His condition is still serious.
