H 'if A wedding of interest to Waitakaruru and Hauraki Plaint residents took place recently at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Napier, when Miss Daphne Mayhead, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Mayhead, of Westshore, Napier, was married to Mr Ray Mohring, eldest son of Mrs J. Pacey, of Waitakaruru, and the late Mi’ A. E. Mbhring, of Palmerston North. The 'Rev. Angus McKenzie was the officiating minister and the organist was Mr H. Pacey. The bride, who was given away by her- father, wore a charmingly dainty frock of white organdie with tucked yoke waist and three-quarter length sleeves, the skirt falling gracefully at the back to form a train, which was ornamented with self embroidery and edged at the hem with two small frills of organdie. 'Her embroidered tulle veil, which fell over the face when she entered the church, was arranged with a head-dress of orange blossoms. White organdie mittens ■edged with Valenciennes lace and laced with silk cord, were worn, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums 'and maidenhair fern. Misses Jean Parsons 'and Doreen Hunt, both of Napier, attended as bridesmaids, and 'wore attractive frocks of ice-blue organdie made io , similar style to the frock of the bride, with under-dresses 1 of deeper blue taffeta. Across the back, of the head, fancy-flowered combs were worn, these, together with matching earrings, being the gift of the bridegroom. Posies of pink button chrysanthemums: completed the headdress. Mittens of blue organdie, laced with deeperffilue cord, were worn, and they carried bouquets of pink chrysanthemums, sweet peas, carnations and maidenhair fern.
The bride was also attended by her small brother, Master Robin Mayhead, who acted as page boy.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr Eric Vickers, of Napier, as best man. Mr Arthur Mohring, of Auckland, acted as l groomsman.
. After the ceremony, a reception was held at (Blythe’s Tea-rooms, where about 'BO guests were received by Mr and Mrsi Mayhead, assisted by Mr and Mrs J. Pacey. Mrs Mayhead wore a navy, afgaline suit embroidered with white, and navy hat and accessories, with a shoulder-spray of petuniacoloured flowers, while Mrs. Pacey wore a nigger brown suit with cinnamon hat and accessories, and a shoulder-spray in autumn tonings.
Mrs Hooper, of Westshore, acted as pianist at the reception and played the wedding march as the bridegroom and guestsi took - their seats at the table. Many congratulatory telegrams! were received and the usual toasts were honoured, a special toast being for the bride’s grandmother, who isi years old. •Later in the evening an enjoyable informal function took .place at the residence of the bride’s parents', when the bride and groom were bidden farewell. The bride’s 1 travelling outfit was a poplar green suit with matching coat, a tan hat, veil and accessories.
