Members also learned to use their organising ability and social activities in the district could be arranged.
At the conclusion of Mr Walker’s address he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, which was carried by acclamation.
A motion was then carried, that a Young Farmers’ Club be formed in Waitakaruru.

PAEROA INDUSTRIES' VISITED
The Netherton Young Farmers’ Club held their field day on Tuesday, May 28, when 15 members gathered at the Paeroa abattoir to hear a lecture on the grading of meat given by Mr Lambic, the meat grader at the abattoir. The lecture was appreciated, and after questions had been asked and a tour of the abattoir had been made the club returned to town for lunch.
At 1 p.m. the club visited the Alpha By-Products factory and listened to Mr W. Dale, stock inspector, on the different diseases and troubles to which cattle are liable. They saw several cows skinned and cut up and the finished products coming out of a machine as meatmeal and blood and bone.
The next place visited was the brewery, where the members were taken through by Mr G. Masters and shown how the beer was brewed, the bottles washed and other processes.
