PROPOSED AGREEMENT
OBJECTIONS RAISED HOSPITAL BOARD’S MEETING A proposed agreement was received by the Thames Hospital Board at its May meeting concerning the tuberculosis sanatorium projected for the Auckland province. Objections to several points in the proposed agreement were raised by the members of the board, particularly that portion dealing with the levies. The' chairman, Mr J. W. D'anby advised caution. “We should find out exactly what will be our financial obligations under this scheme,” he said, “I would suggest that we appoint a committee to investigate the position, to report back to the board.”
Mr W. C. Kennedy: Was it not agreed that this hospital was necessary and that provided the financial obligations were equitable we would be agreeable to the scheme? Question of Responsibility
The chairman explained that the objections to the scheme were confined to the methods of procedure, and he expressed himself as in favour of a population basis for the apportioning of liabilities.
