ADULT EDUCATION TOUR BY ORGANISER The 1 co-ordinating 1 committee of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and Women’s Institutes met m Paeroa recently. The. committee comprises three representatives of each organisation. Mesdames 'Blackmore (chairman) and 'Bachelor, represented the division, there being’ an apology for absence from Mrs Hollis, and Miss Paul, Mesdames Turton and Brady (secretary) the institutes. Mrs Blackmore presided. Arrangements were made for a tour by Miss Sheila McMillan in connection with adult education. Miss McMillan herself suggested that Coromandel be given first preference because of their being disappointed last time. Her itinerary, in a five-day tour from June I'7 to June 22, will be as follows.: —First day, Colville, Coromandel; second day, Mhrcury Bay, Whenuakite, Coroglen; third day, Thames, Orongo, Matatoki, Turua, Huirau road, Kopu, Puriri; fourth day. W'harepoa, Waihi, Netherton, Waikino, Kerepeehi, T'irohia, Hikuai; fifth day, Waitakaruru, Patetonga, Kaihere, Pipiroa, Mangatarata, Maramarua, Kopuku. Dressmaking classes will also ba started in the district on May 6 by Mrs Gibson. Mrs Brady presented a comprehensive report on the adult education conference held recently in Auckland. This was also read by her at today’s meeting of the Thames-Haurak’ Plains Federation of Women’s Institutes. .
