INDOOR RACES
SECOND MEETING ARRANGED HIKUTAIA COMMITTEE At a large and enthusiastic meeting held in the Hikutaia Hall, it was decided to holdl a second indoor race meeting in aid of funds to complete the patriotic quota. Mr Geo. Avery, chairman of the Combined Hikutaia Patriotic Committee presided l and a strong set of officials was elected to control the function.
The following officers) were elected l : —lPatron, Mr W. Bain; president, Mr G. Avery; vice-presidents, Messrs P. Corbett and) A. Duncan; judge, Mr P. Corbett assistant starter, Mr A. Royal; cleric of course, Mr Colin Elliott; announcers, Messrs Colin Elliott and H. Smith.; totalisatoi* stewards, Meissrs Cedric. Murdock and G. Henwood; veterinary surgeon, Mr N. Harper; hon. secretary, Mr J. Corbett; hon. secretary, Mr F. Bown; programme committee, Messrs W. Bain, Colin Elliott, B. A. Kelly, P. Corbett, J. Goonan, G. Henwood.
