SCOUTS AT PURIRI
ANNUAL MEETING HELD NEED FOR SCOUTMASTER There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of the Puriri Boy Scouts, held in the Puriri Hall last week. Mr R. 'E. Moyle presided and presented the _• annual report and statement of accounts. Officers and committee. were ejected as follow; Chairman, Mr J. W. F. Mcßeth; secretary, Mr R. E. Moyle; committee, Mesdames Moyle, J. B. Bell, G. Bax, W. Green, J. McKenzie, G. Riley, H. Newton and A. J. Clark. Mr S. T. G. Paynter, the district
scoutmaster, who has been supervising tlie scouts, reported on their work, and a report was also received from Miss Dawn Moyle, cub mistress. The Thames Local Association was represented by Messrs H. G. Dorrington (chairman) W. S. Burford (secretary) and H. Rice. Mr Dorrington. briefly addressed the. meeting on the organisation'of the scout district and pointed out that, the aim of the local association was to: assist groups in every way possible. There was a long discussion concerning the need for the appointment of a local scoutmaster, and the committee would appreciate hearing of some public spirited man who would be prepared to offer his services.
