REQUEST TO THE COUNCIL

A request that the council make application for extra street lighting for the Ngatea township was received from the Ngatea Progress Association at the November meeting of the Hauraki Plains 'County Council. The secretary, Mr G. W. Cramond, stated that members of his association had pointed out that with the narrow roads and the large drains ■on either sidle of same there was great danger to pedestrian traffic, especially on picture nights and other nights of entertainment when it is dark and glaring car lights are .bad. The chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, said the request was alright conditionally that the Ngatea people were prepared to pay for the nights.
