INSPECTION MADE
NEW WATER SUPPLY COMPLETION LIKELY SOON The new section of the Thames Borough’s water supply was yesterday inspected by Borough councillors, for whose benefit the water was turned on and they vyere given a good idea of how the race worked. The supply should be ready for handing over within a few days. Testing has been going on for the last few weeks, and various matters have been remedied, and now the final touches are being attended to. The completion of the race will make a big difference to the Borough supply and will mean that adequate water will again lie available. Since the break in the race about a year ago the supply has been reduced, and while it was sufficient during wet weather, the recent dry spell has caused it to become a problem again, with the supply extremely low at times.
