CHILDLIKE FAITH

NECESSARY TO CONVERSION THE TEACHING OF JESUS . (IBy E.H.8.) ‘ An exalted opinion of their own importance and a reliancb upon their . own faulty powers of reasoning are two stumbling blocks which are preventing many from being converted/ to the Christian way of life. The dis- '■ ciples sought to be greater than one another and as a rebuke, Jesus called < a little child unto Him and set him! in the midst of them and said, “Verily I say unto you, except, you .'be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom, of Heaven.” (Matt. 1*8:3). A. little child does, not question the action® ' of its- parents. Nor does it seek to fathom their minds. It simply trusts them and accepts everything 'they do' as’ being right. , It is precisely the same attitude 1 which is expected of men and 1 women to-day with regard to Jesus Christ. If instead of seeking to work out . their own philosophy of life and attempting to reason out eternal things' ; they siihply trusted God and followed His Word, there would be far less s strife and turmoil in the world today. ’ . ■ i

Furthermore, ■ notice that Jesus ■ definitely states that failure to be converted and childlike in faith means expulsion from Heaven. “Shall not' enter” are strong words but they aptly, express the importance Christ placed upon 'this truth. Conversion is scoffed at and its need denied by many but nevertheless, reader, you must be converted. The Bible says' so. You must change your present way of living without God, to a new way of liv- . ing with God. This is what conversion means. Andi it is only possible to do this through a simple childlike . faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God Who gave Himself for your. sins. When God’s (Word says that “He is able to save to the uttermost them that come to iGod by Him” (Heb. 7.26), take God at His Word'. When Jesus says “Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28). He means it and will lovingly receive you. Trust Him implicitly as your Saviour for there is no hope of heaven for you unless you do.—P.B.A.
