ROAD TO WHANGAPOUA “HOLES LIKE SWIM'MING POOLS” Arising out of discussion on the foreman’s report at the September meeting of the Coromandel County Council, Cr. H. C. (Bull asked for something to be done to the Whangapoua road. Cr. T. E. Simpson supported him and said there were Holes like swimming pools—it was utterly impossible to dodge them. Cr. Bull said the riding was in credit and the job was a major one. Cr. Simpson emphasised that the job could be done most economically from the Kuaotunu end, wherejnetal could be got from Turner’s quarry ior

patching. Cr. A. J. .Denize pointed out- that a major rehabilitation scheme was being undertaken in that area, and' suggested writing to the Government and asking for the work to be put on the supplementary estimates. It was resolved that the forman be instructed to put work in hand to give relief. ®
