SCHOOL AFFAIRS
PAEROA COMMITTEE MEETS COMPLETING ROLL OF HONOUR The September meeting of the Paeroa District High School Committee was held 1 in the schoolroom on Monday, the chairman, Mr C. 0. Webb, presiding over Messrs J. FL Walmsley, H. <H. Follas, T. I. Jenkins, A. F. Thorp, 0. A, H. Allison, P. Williams and S. H. Wheeler. The headmaster. G. M. Ruscoe, was also in attendance. Leave of absence was granted to the secretary who was confined to bed. Accounts totalling £4B l’3s lid were passed for payment. It was reported that the Paeroa Parent-Teachers’ Association had made a donation *of £lO worth 01 materials for use by the infant mistress for the younger pupils. The headmaster reported that he had received advice that a telephone was to be installed at his residence. It was decided to make applicationfor phones to be installed at both schools, the committee to meet the cost of same if the board would not furnish the necessary funds. A sub-committee comprising Messrs Walmsley, Allison and Follas was appointed to make the preliminary arrangements for compiling the school Roll of H'onour for those who have served in the present war.
