KOPU SHEEP FAIR
LARGE YARDING REPORTED
TOTAL CLEARANCE! EFFECTED
Messrs Dalgety and Co., report a large yarding of sheep at the annual Kopu sheep fair held last Tuesday. Buyers were present from the Waikato and surrounding districts and practically a total clearance was effected.
Lamb, prices in sympathy with outside centres were easier but vendors met the market and in this section a total clearance was effected. Ewes were in keen demand' and the advertised flock sold readily. A small entry of wethers were also sought. We quote:—
Best ewe lambs, 225; good ewe 17s 6d; medium ewe lambs, 14s to 16s; small, Ils to 12s 6d; best wether lambs, 19s 3d; good wether lambs, 17s 10d; medium wether lambs, 14s 6d to 15s 9d; smaller, 12s 6d to 13s 3d; small and culling, 9s to 10s 6d; 2 and 4-th. wethers, 26s 3d to 27s 9d; S.D. rams, £6 6s to £8; Romney ram, £4 4 S to £6 6s; 2-th. ewes, 30s 6d; 4-th. ewes, 29s 6d; 6-th. ewes, 29s 6d; 4-year-old ewes, 27s 6d; 5-year-old ewes, 235; forward conditioned ewes, 15s 6d to 16s 3d; store ewes, 12s 6d to 14s lOd; aged ewes, 9s 3d to 11s 6d.
