COROMANDEL COMMITTEE MONTHLY MEETING HELD I The monthly meeting of the CoroI mandel Rehabilitation Committee was | held in the Council Chambers on j Thursday, December 14. Apologies were received from the Rehabilition i Officer, Mr W. P. Corrigan and Mr F. i H. McCall, who were unable to attend. I Mr W. F. Bates, of Te Aroha, was nominated as the representative of the combined rehabilitation Committees in the Paeroa District to sit as a member of the regional committee which is to be set up in Thaines for the purpose of advising on post-war rehabilitation schemes. Two ex-servicemen attended the meeting with requests for assistance and the committee agreed to support one proposal and in the other case it was not possible to help the applicant until such time as he was able to put forward a definite proposition. Both men thanked the committee for the help, and guidance offered.

As this was the last occasion that the committee would meet in 1944 the chairman briefly acknowledged the good work that had been accomplished in the past year, especially mentioning the Rehabilitation Officer and his staff and' extended his best wishes for the Christmas season and the coming year. The next meeting of the committee will ibe held on February 8, 1945.
