REPORT WANTED

COROMANDEL WATER SUPPLY

DECISION OF THE COUNCIL A comprehensive report on the Coromandel water supply was brought down at the -December meeting of the Coromandel County Council. After a lengthy discussion in which the whole question was thoroughly gone into it was proposed by Cr. A. Watkins and. seconded by Cr. A. J. Denize that the council engage the services of a specialist in hydraulic engineering to report on the water works andi supply. This was carried unanimously.

It was pointed out in the discussion that no one in Coromandel knew actually the cause of the present lack of pressure.

When the question of lack of pressure at the hospital came up it was unanimously agreed that the hospital should have the water, also the residents in the top town who were paying for something they did l not get. As the trouble was the result of the pelton Wheels, it was proposed by Cr. Notman and seconded by Cr. Winstone that the owners of the pelton wheels be notified to cut off the wheels within seven, days. A rider was added that it was hoped it would only be a temporary measure.
