KITCHEN TEA

FUNCTION HELD AT KEREPEEHI

MISS P. RAWLINS HONOURED

There was a large attendance at the Kerepeehi Hall on Monday, December 11 at a kitchen evening organised by the Kerepeehi Youth Club in honour of Miss IP. iFawlins and Mr S. D’Ath, whose marriage will take place shortly.

Music was supplied by Mesdames E. A. Potter and A. P. Innis and Mr A. Henwood. Mr E. Quinn acted as M.C. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss S. Harvey and Mr R. Murray and Miss J. Hayes and partner. Extras were played by Misses J. Hayes and P. Thrupp. Miss R. Booth and Mrs A. P. Innis rendered two songs' which were well applauded l .

Mr B. Burton asked the guests of honour to come forward and open the parcels and in doing so stated that Phyllis was well known in the district and was held in very high esteem by everyone. Although ‘Sam was not so well known the fact that he had served overseas spoke for itself and he congratulated both and wished them all the best in their future life..

Miss V. Burling then presented •Phyllis with a pyrex casserole from the Kerepeehi Basketball Club, stating that when Phyllis used it she hoped it would bring back pleasant memories spent when playing basketball for Kerepeehi. She concluded with the very best wishes from the club.
