WHAREPOA INSTITUTE

MONTHLY MEETING HELD

There was a good attendance of members at the December meeting of the Wharepoa Women’s- Institute. The meeting- commenced with the reading of -the aspirations. All correspondence was read* and it was decided to vote for the name “South Auckland District Federation” for the new institute district. It was decided to enter for the competition to be held in Thames next April.

The bring-and-’buy stall was -well patronised. The competition for the best paper hat was won by Mrs H. Bax. The wall competition was won by Mrs Henwood.

The points prize for plain scones

was won by Mrs T. Bax with Mrs G. Brunton second- and Mrs G. Henwood third.

It was decided to hold a fancy dress party in the Wharepoa Hall during December for the children of institute members.

The hostess and judge for the day was Mrs- G. Innis.
