NEW BOWLING GREEN

PROPOSAL AT KAIHERE

FINANCIAL AID SOUGHT

A request for assistance in the laying down of a bowling green on the Kaihere Domain was received at the Decembei* meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council.

“The residents of Kaihere are endeavouring to lay down l a bowling green on the Kaihere- Domain. It is understood that your council is prepared to assist financially in projects of this nature,” wrote the chairman of the Kaihere Domain Board, Mr A. G. Davis.

“I am unable at the present time to give you the cost of the plan, aS' it will be governed mainly by the amount of free labour we are able to obtain. Can I ask your council, when considering estimates for these purposes, that Kaihere will receive consideration?” added the letter

It was pointed out that the council had not provided- for any finance for such work this year but the matter would be considered when next year’s estimates were Ibeing discussed.
