FORMER PAEROA GIRL MARRIES

St. George’s Anglican Church, Papatoetoe, was the scene of a wedding of local interest when Miss Margaret Alison Mills, younger daughter of Mrs and the late Mr H. A. Mills, of Papatoetoe, and formerly of Paeroa, was, married to Mr James Robert Ellison Hattrick, elder son of Mr and Mrs V. Hattrick, also of Papatoetoe. The Rev. Steele performed the marriage ceremony while Miss Barbara Hyland presided at the organ. The bride who was given away by her uncle, Mr Leonard Bell, of Kaitaia, wore a graceful fully trained frock of 'cream embossed georgette. Her hand-embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of cream roses, carnations and stock. The bride was attended by Miss Valerie Ross, of Papatoetoe, who wore a frock of pastel green sprigged muslin with matching flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of pink Dorothy Perkin roses. Little Judith Mills (niece of the bride) of 'Paeroa, was also in attendance, and was frocked similar to the. bridesmaid. She carried a Victorian posy of flowers to tone with her frock. Mr Herbert Hattrick assisted his brother as best man.

At the reception which was held in the Parish Hall, Papatoetoe, Mrs Mills received her guests in a frock of navy and white spotted marocain with navy coat and hat. Her shoulder sprajwas of red carnations. She was assisted by Mrs Hattrick, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a black silk frock relieved with white, with black hat, and shoulder spray of deep red roses.

When the bride and ibrideg.room left on a tour of the South Island the bride was wearing a grey tailored costume with blue hat and accessories.
