R.S.A.

WOMEN’S SECTION MEET

WORK IN COROMANDEL

A meeting of the executive of the the Women’s Section of the R.S.A. was held in the Rest Rooms, Coromandel, on iFriday, November 17, Mrs French presided.

A letter was read from the secretary, Mrs McKinley, tendering her resignation from that position. Regret was expressed at losing Mrs McKinley’s services—she had been most conscientious and helpful.

Airs E. M. Lucas was appointed secretary for the remainder of the term.

The sick visitor’s report was favourable and Mrs H. V. Denize was appointed for this next month.

It was reported that the Rose Day collections had been most gratifying, approximately £l3 being the net result including donations.. It was resolved to send letters of thanks to the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts for their splendid help in the Rose Day collections.

The treasurer reported a very satisfactory credit balance had been raised as a result of various card evenings, donations, etc., and the women’s section was very pleased with the results of their activities since the inception of this branch of the R.S.A. It was resolved not to put on any more efforts this year, in view of the many calls on the public at this time of the year, but discussion ensued with a view to starting a vigorous campaign in the New Year in the hope of seeing new club rooms for servicemen and women in the not too distant future. The meeting then closed.
