SERVICE WEDDING
BLAIR—HALE CEREMONY AT THAMES ■BRIDE IN IVORY RIPPLE CLOQUE At noon on Saturday, 'November |lB, th© Methodist Church, Thames, was the scene of the wedding of Gladys Isohel, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. E. Hale, Kopuarahi, to Staff-Sergeant H. Roy Blair, son of Mr and Mrs Blair of Napier. Rev. Handiy officited. The church was decorated
with orange blossom. The -bride wore a classical gown of ivory ripple cloque, which fell to a long train, edged with a tqlle ruffle. An embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a spray of orange blossom. Her heart-shaped bouquet, was of cream rose-buds, white and pink carnations ‘and real orange blossom. Her small niece, Shirley Hale, presented her with a lucky horseshoe at the church door. The bridesmaid, Miss Pat McCarthy (W.A.A.C.), wore a frock of deep rose crepe faccone. The full gathered skirt fell gracefully from the slim fitting, low-waisted bodice which dipped to a point at the back. Her headdress was embroidered rose tulle, finished with a spray of roses. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of double vieux rose gerberas and pale pink stock. The best man was Sergeant Terry Keenan. The reception was held in the Masonic Hall, Thames, where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Hale. Mrs Hale wore a charming blue suit, appliqued in self tonings and accessories to match. Mrs Blair, mother of the bridegroom, looked smart in a navy and white ensemble and had a spray of pink carnations and stock.
Mrs H. R. Blair left for her honeymoon wearing a suit of moonlight blue, embroidered with cherry silk, a cherry and black hat and accessories to tone.
