AWAITI-TIROHIA

FORMATION OF THE ROAD SETTLERS TO CONTRIBUTE Settlers farming sections on the stretch of the Awaiti-Tirohia road yet to be formed and metalled met members of the Piako Couny Council during the Council’s tour of the eastern part of the county recently, as a result of which they agreed to contribute the £5O required from them for the formation to be undertaken. At the October meeting of the council it had been stated that not all the settlers were prepared to contribute, and it was decided to delay the commencement of the work until a meeting could be arranged. No definite agreement was reached over a question of metalling, and this will be decided when formation is completed.
