£4,777 INCREASE
SALE OF ELECTRICITY
VALLEY POWER BOARD
FIGURES FOR PAST SIX MONTHS
“ The revenue from the sales of electricity for the half-year ended September, 1943, was £lOO,660 against £105,437 for the year just ended, an increase of £4777,” reported the manager, Mr R. Sprague, to Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board.
The report continued: — “The comparisons of revenue and expenditure show that the increases are fairly normal, but the effect of the reductions in charges already given to consumers, especially milking motors, will be more apparent during the current half-year.
*Tt will be noticed that a big reduction in revenue from farm motors has been due to the consumers taking advantage of the Id unit rate for pumping against the previous rate of 21d unit.
' “All services under the heading of expenditure have shown increases. Value of Metering
“A very satisfactory position is the ratio of increased power purchases to revenue. This is wholly due to the metering of water-heaters. “The financial position is quite satisfactory and with the increase in units sold, together with revenue increase, which has almost set off the increased expenditure, the board could safely give a reduction to industrial' users. These consumers have had only one reduction since 1029 and a reduction in rates has been brought before the finance committee for their consideration. Revenue and Expenditure
