DANGEROUS DRIVING MOTORIST BEFORE COURT NEARLY HIT THE INSPECTOR Charged with dangerous driving, Ella May Tanner was fined '£s, costs 12s, 'by 'Mr W. !H. Freeman, S.M., in the Paeroa 'Court on Monday. Traffic-Inspector G. A. Ferguson stated that on June '5 at about 2.30 p.m. he had been patrolling towards Thames near the Paeroa racecourse when two cars approached over a i’ise travelling towards him. Defendant who passed the leading car without visibility of the road ahead headed straight at him and he was 1 forced on to the grass to avoid a collision. He estimated her speed at 35 to 40 miles per hour. Her excuse added the Inspector was “Thank you, Pm sorry.”
