PEACE CUP
ELIMINATION MATCH PROPOSAL TO TE AROHA POSSIBLE GAME AT PAEROA The Te Aroha Rugby Union submitted July 29' for the elimination game for the Peace - Cup, and suggested that the venue be decided by a toss of the coin, in a letter received and read by the secretary, Mr E. O. Brownlee, at a meeting of the management committee of the Thames Rugby Union at which Mr Barlow presided. However, it was decided to suggest to Te Aroha that August 12 was more suitable, and that, in view of the difficulties for the Thames team travelling by train, it was decided to offer Te Aroha 60- per cent, of the net gatetakings to play at Thames, as the Te Aroha team could travel to Thames by train.
If this was unacceptable to Te Aroha it was suggested that both teams play on a neutral ground, Paeroa being suggested. Mr H. Lang was appointed on the committee in place of -Mr J. H. Corbett, who resigned. The Paeroa Rugby Union was agreeable to sending a team to Thames on ■Saturday for the curtain-raiser at 1.3'0.
