PAEROA CATTLE SALE
KEEN DEMAND FOR BEEF DAIRY HEIFERS IMPROVE There was a large yarding of cattle at the fortnightly sale held at Paeroa on Monday last, reports the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency : Ltd. Dairy heifers showed a slight improvement and quality beef cattle were in keener demand. The remainder of the yarding changed hands at recent quotations. Best quality heifers, July calvers, made from £lO to £11; medium quality, £8 15s to £9 15s; backward and inferior, £7 to £8; best quality dairy cows, calved and close to profit made from £7 5s to £8 10s; medium, £6 to £7; backward and inferior, £5 5s to £6. Prime beef cows and heifers, £8 to £9 15s; medium, £7 to £8; lighter, £5 10s to £6 15s; steers, 24-year-old, fat and forward, £8 15s to £9 15s; heavy boners, £3 15s to £4 ss; medium, £3 to £3 10s; light, £2 5s to £2 15s. Potter bulls sold according to weight, from £4 to £7 10s. Yearling heifers from £3 5s to £4 ss; empty 2-year heifers, £3 10s to £4 10s.
