PAEROA WEDDING

JOHNSON—ROBERTS CEREMONY IN ARMY HALL BRIDE' IN IVORY SATIN GOWN The Salvation Army Hall, Paeroa, was very tastefully decorated for the marriage on April 22i of Miss Kathleen Jeune Roberts, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Reg. Roberts, Flora street, Paeroa, to .‘Mr Frederick T. J. Johnson, Awaiti. Adjutant Armstrong officiated and Mr L. Bradley presided at the organ.

The hride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory satin, with an inset shirred bodice, and the sleeves and trainwere 'beautifully quilted. A finishing touch was added to the train with a row of pleating. Her long net veil was caught in a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of white roses, begonia, and maidenhair fern.

She was attended 'by her sister, Miss Norma Roberts, who wore a lowwaisted duek-egg green frock of embossed cloque, with a heart-shaped neckline, and Miss Dawn Johnson, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a similar frock of pink cloque. The bridesmaids carried contrasting- cascade bouquets and wore a spray of matching flowers in their hair.

The best man was Mr Allan Haul, cousin of the bridegroom, and. the groomsman was Mr R. W. (Bruce) Roberts, brother of the bride.

On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a good' luck horseshoe by her little niece. Miss Judith Roberts.

At the reception held at the 'Civic Ballroom, the guests were received by the bride’s mother, Mrs Roberts, assisted by Mrs Johnson, mother of the bridegroom. Mrs Roberts wore black English moss crepe, with white silk hand embroidery and black accessories, and wore a shoulder spray of gold roses and begonia. Mrs Johnson wore a prune-coloured frock and black accessories and wore a shoulder spray of scarlet gerberas. A special toast honoured at the breakfast was to Pte. Len. Roberts,

brother of the bride, who Is on active service overseas.

When the happy coup I ** departed, the bride wore a pretty frock of marina blue, with a gored skirt which fell in unpressed pleats, and novelty pintucked pockets. She wore a shoulder spray a p.ni begonia and her accessories were navy blue.
