THAMES BOARD MEETS

INSTITUTIONS ALL BUSY

STATISTICS FOR SEPTEMBER

The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital Board was held in Thames On Tuesday, the chairman, Mr P. E. Brenan, presiding. Others present were Messrs J. W. Danby, W. Madgwick, C. Winder, J. J. Shallue, C. W. Parfitt, A. H. Sutton, *G. G. Cornes, A. G. Davis, W. C. Kennedy and the secretary, Mr A. L. Neighbour.

The following reports were received from the various hospitals under the board’s control:—

Paeroa Hospital.—Number of patients in wards at last return, 1 male, 8 females; admitted, 2 males, 13 females; deaths, 1 baby; discharged, ° males, 13 females; remaining 8 females; operations, 1; number of confinements 7.

The acting-matron, Miss D. Moore, reported: “A busy month throughout. Very grateful for help from Thames Hospital.”

. 'Thames Hospital.—Number of patients in wards at last return, 62 males, 46 females; admitted, &2 males, 65 females; deaths, 3 males, ’5 females; discharged, 61 males, 55 females; remaining, 62 males, 51 females; operations, 23 males, 18 females; outpatients, 51 males, 65 females.

Waihi Hospital.—Number of patients in wards at last return, 22; males, 25 females; admitted, 26 males, 44 females; deaths, 0 males, 3 females; discharged, 26 males, 39 females; remaining, 22 males, 27 females; out-patients, 10 males, 8 females; operations, 13 males, 15 females; maternity cases, 11. Hospital has’ been very busy this month,” added the surgeon’s report. Coromandel Hospital.—Number of males, 42 females; admitted, 10 males, 15 females; discharged, 10 males, 20’ females; remaining, 10 males, 7 females; operations, 0 males, 5 females; out-patients, 57 males, 33 females; births, 2 males, 1 femaleprescriptions, 48. “ The work of the hospital proceeds smoothly,” added the surgeon’s report. Mercury Bay 'Hospital.—Number of patients- in hospital at last return, 2 males, 1 female; admitted, 5 males, 2 females; discharged, 3 males, 2 females; remaining, 4 males, 1 female; births, 1 female; out-patients, 78;

Farm.—During the month of September the following goods were supplied:—

To The Homes.—3o gallons milk, 16 lb. pumpkin, 13 dozen eggs. To Thames Hospital.—763 gallons milk, 164 dozen eggs, 24 dozen lemons, 5 dozen grape fruit.
