CONCRETE FOOTPATH

LENGTH LAID IN PAEROA

VICTORIA AND WOOD STREETS

“A concrete footpath has been laid in Victoria street from Willoughby street to Wood street and in Wood street as far as Thorpe street. The total length of path laid here is 798 feet,” reported the works committee, to the September meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council.

“Willoughby street at the comer of Victoria street has; been cleared of willows and fescue so that property occupiers can mow this piece and keep it tidy,” added the report.

Members spoke of the good work done with these paths.

The. Mayor, Mr Edwards, agreed that the council had made good progress in the laying down of concrete paths and if a progressive, policy was pursued it would not take many years -before the whole borough was completed.

Continuing, the Mayor stated that •finances would not permit of any more concrete paths being laid down this year, but the work would be continued each year until all were completed.
