PRESENTATION OF CHEQUE » MR AND MRS PIERCE FAMILY LEAVING THE DISTRICT The friends of Mr and Mrs F. Pierce met in the Ngatea Public Hall on Monday nighf to bid them farewell. After eight years’ residence in the district Mr and Mrs Pierce are leaving to manage a farm in Dargaville. The function took the form of a dance, music being supplied by Mrs M. Bush, Miss I. Jackson and Mr L. O’Brien. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Mrs Pierce and Mr L* Julian. Mr A. Burt was M.C. After a plenteous supper had been handed around, Mr A. Cleave asked Mr Pierce to accept a cheque on behalf of their many friends in Ngatea, who were very sorry to see the family moving on. Both Mr and Mrs Pierce had always joined in the activities of
the district and would be greatly missed. However, everybody present would join in wishing them, also Colleen and Guy, success and enjoyment iri their new abode. Sorry To Leave Ngatea In reply, Mr Pierce sincerelythanked all for their many kindnesses to his family and himself during their residence in Ngatea, also for the presentation and kind remarks made by Mr Cleave. They would, always connect the district with many pleasant and happy memories. Musical honours were 'then accorded the guests of honour. Dancing continued till the early hours.
