WOMEN’S DIVISION
TIROHIA ANNUAL MEETING OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The president, Mrs Wild, presided over a fairly good attendance of members at the second annual meeting of the Tirohia Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. The balance sheet showed that the branch had had a most successful year. The president gave her report of the year’s activities, this also was a very pleasing report. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Carroll, the hon. auditor, and the teachers and committee of the Tirohia school for allowing the branch to use the school room for meetings.
Mrs Wild presented the prize she had donated to the member who gained the highest points for competitions run during the year.
Prior to the election of officers, Mrs Murray and Mrs Silcock made presentations to the retiring president and secretary respectively as an appreciation from branch members.
Election results were as follows, all being returned to office for another year:—President, Mrs G. W. Wild; vice-presidents, Mesdames Murray, Silcock and Noble; hon. secretary and treasurer, Miss Isabel Veale; advisory members, Mesdames Murray and Noble; delegates to Provincial, Mrs Wild, Mrs Murray and Miss Veale; hon. auditor, Mr A. J. 'Carroll. At the conclusion of the meeting afternoon tea was served and a cake, made, iced and donated by Mesdames Murray, H. C. Jackson and C. G. Jackson for the occasion of the branch’s second birthday was cut with all due ceremony.
The best bloom competition reresults were as follows: —Miss Veale 1, Mrs Silcock 2, Mrs Wild 3.
