PATRIOTIC FUNDS AIDED THREE GIRLS RAISE £2/5/A commendable Patriotic effort was made recently by three small ■ Paeroa girls, Rosemary Gwilliam, Margot Grant and Barbara . Grant, the sum of £2 5s being collected for , the 1943 All Purposes Appeal. The girls arranged a' number of . pressed flowers under a small piece, of glass and then made a house-tor house canvass charging a penny a peep, all proceeds being put into a tin which had been soldered down. ; and a slit cut in the top. . Putting a lot of their spare tinae ■ after school each evening into this effort some 506-odd people were shown the display.
