member of the lodge, has been attending the Point 'Chevalier Lodge and has reached the position of V.G. The sick visitors’ reports were noticeable for their brevity, there being very little sickness at the present time among the members. One new member was initiated into the Order.
■Special commendation was paid by the N.G. to those members who had re-decorated the hall, the credit being due to Sister J. Notman and P.G. Bro. K. W. Beech. After the Lodge Prayer was read the meeting closed. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED ■lSISTER E. M. LUCAS HONOURED After the usual lodge meeting the social part of the evening commenced with a tasteful supper prepared by Sister C. Anderson, who was accorded special thanks for her work. This part of the evening • was really a birthday party in honour of Sister E. M. Lucas and was a function to which several visitors had been invited.
The N.G., Bro. V. Powley, asked Sister Lucas to accept, with the Lodge’s best wishes, a pottery vase. Mrs Inglis, who spoke on behalf of the visitors, and P.G. Sister June Deeble, who expressed the lodge’s appreciation of Sister Lucas’ work as financial Secretary, each , presented her with a bouquet, while the V.G. Sister June Notman, presented her, on behalf of the social committee, with a -dainty spray of flowers. Sister Lucas was accorded musical honours and although somewhat overwhelmed by the expressions of appreciation nevertheless replied most suitably and thanked both the lodge members and the visitors’ for their kind thoughts.
After supper everyone settled down to dancing, games and singing which continued until a late hour when the now “traditional” second supper brought a most delightful evening to a close. The music was as usual supplied by Sister Lucas and Sister Janet McLellan.
